Cool Contact Lenses - Fashionable Eye Trends

So what's new and what's cool in eye trends and co,ntact lenses in particular? Well, to start with, ever since Harry Potter, we don't hear about kids not wanting to wear glasses as often as we used to. The whole Harry Potter craze has made wearing glasses real cool for many kids. Indeed it has been known for some kids acually failing their vision test on purpose in order to get to wear glasses.

However, for older children who really don't want to wear eye glasses, contact lenses are a good option that might just be considered cool. Although in general, kids typically have to wait until they become teenagers before they get contact lenses, since younger children aren't thought to be responsible enough to put them in, take them out, and carry out the regular essential cleaning processes without help from their parents.

And yet a recent study, published in 2004, concluded that kids from age 8 to 11 years are indeed able to independently care for daily disposable contact lenses and wear them successfully. Although the researchers did suggest that these children be prescribed daily disposable contact lenses so that they didn't have to clean and disinfect their lenses each day.

It really is a question of just how responsible your child really is with things that matter. Simply take a look at how they treat their own clothes, school materials, toys, etc. If they look after these things well, they might be considered a good candidate for contact lenses. If the child appears responsible, then you may want to talk to her eye optician to see if contact lenses may be a viable option.

If investigating and contact lenses don't really appear to be an option, then perhaps you should let your child choose some new cool frames that they might be more comfortable wearing. Then reason with them so they understand why it's important to wear glasses and the benefits they provide.

Cool contact lenses - sure. But glasses can be equally as cool. Just ask all those Harry Potter fans.
