Fashion Contact Lenses
Being able to chage your eye color instantly is not only exciting but also
really cool and fun. With today’s range of fashion contact lenses you
can not only do just that, but you can also select from an ever growing choice
of cool party themes, such as for Halloween, Valentine’s Day, or even
a Gothic design. These contact lenses are not usually of the prescription type
which provide vision correction, rather they are typically cosmetic lenses
for fashion or simply fun.
Should you use fashion contact lenses?
Sure, colored fashion lenses are great fun: they will change your look instantly
and will give you almost any eye color you want. However, when dealing with
a delicate part of your body such as your eyes, you must take very great
care and the necessary precautions. If you don’t have the time are aren’t
willing to undertake these basic steps then fashion contact lenses are best
avoided.
If you do decided to go ahead with getting cosmetic contact lenses and you
don’t otherwise need vision correction, it is likely you won’t
need a prescription to purchase cosmetic colored contact lenses. However,
if you do currently wear contacts or eyeglasses, then you should see an optician
who specialises in contact lenses and they will provide you with the correct
prescription.
Contact lenses care If you do use contact lenses to change your eye color for fashion or fun,
then you should be careful to observe the fundamental hygiene proccesses applicable
to all contact lens wear, whether prescription lenses or fashion lenses. These
hygiene procedures should be clearly explained to you by your contact lens
consultant the first time you purchase your lenses.
Firstlyn your hands must be spotlessly clean before handling the lenses or
putting your fingers near your eyes. Then, if nit using daily disposable
lenses, you’ll need the appropriate solutions for cleaning and syteralising your
lenses. The apprpriate procedures and solutions applicable to your lens type
and wearing regime will be recommended to you by your lens consultant. The
solutions themselves of course come with detailed instructions and guidance
for their use.
Your contact lenses are personal to you. Never let another person use your
lenses nor should you use lenses belonging to others. This rule is applicable
to all types of lenses, including fashion contact lenses.
There might be the rare instance when a contact lens gets stuck in your
eye. This can be a little worrying when using colored fashion lenses since
your
eye might then appear as two-colored due to displacement of the lens. Don’t
worry – simply apply some saline solution to your finger tip and
you’ll
soon find that the lens will dislodge. You can then either reposition the
lens correctly or remove it completely. Alternatively apply some wetting
drops (liquid
tears) into your eye and blink a few times. Normally that is all that is
needed. However, if these simple techniques simply don’t work, pay
a quick visit to your optician, who will have the lens out in no time at
all.
Where to buy colored fashion contact lenses
Colored fashion contact lenses can be bought either online, for a wide
selection, or your preferred local optemetrist is likely also to have
a small selection
in stock. But normally the largest selection with the best prices will
be found online.
